Carlene has given extensively to the community and local charities.

Carlene has been a strong advocate and supporter for those battling breast cancer. She has actively walked in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for many years in support of her mother, friends, and clients that have been afflicted with the disease.

She has served on the Executive Board of Woman’s Life—Chapter 864—in Clarkston, Michigan, since 2016, helping raise funds for local organizations including the House of Providence, Baldwin Center, Mary’s Mantle, Career Dress, Lighthouse of Clarkston, Ester’s Children, Ele’s Place, Neighbor For Neighbor, Veterans Connected, The Well, Dutton Farm, Habitat for Humanity Women Build, and Blessings In A Backpack.

In her role at Woman’s Life, she has been a strong advocate for survivors of human trafficking. Carlene regularly supports survivors through Sanctum House, Ring True, and Beauty for Ashes, who all provide housing, therapy, job training, and other vital care and support for these women.

Carlene helped found #LucaStrong in 2019 to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease and raise funds for exercise support and care for those afflicted with Parkinson’s that are not traditionally covered by medical insurance. Her team has raised over $65,000 in the name of #LucaStrong for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.

Every year, Carlene helps provide Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas presents to local families in need.
